CANADA 150 | TRAVEL HIGHLIGHTS

Snowboarding in Mt. Tremblant, Quebec

Today Canada turns the big 150 so I thought I would share my favourite spots in this beautiful country I call home! I am so grateful I was raised in a diverse cultural community, I’ve had friends from almost every part of the world just living in Toronto and have learned so much from the multiculturalism that is celebrated here. I love the people, the landscape and the freedom and I feel really blessed to call Canada my home. I have so much left to see from this beautiful country, but I am thankful I’ve been able to visit a lot of the provinces thus far. So here are my top places in Canada…

FOGO ISLAND, NEWFOUNDLAND & LABRADOR

I got to stay at the incredible Fogo Island Inn on a press trip in 2015 and it was an incredible experience! It’s right on one of the four corners of the earth! I can still remember it was the cleanest air I have ever breathed off the atlantic ocean. It was the most luxurious experience…

MONTREAL, QUEBEC

I grew up going to Montreal every summer, and love this French speaking city because it feels like a mini Paris! Loved going back and exploring Old Montreal with Neal – the Notre Dame Church (where Celine Dion was married), it is my absolutely favourite part of this city!

MT. TREMBLANT, QUEBEC

Every winter growing up we’d head up to Mt. Tremblant for my Mom’s business Christmas parties and I’ve visited numerous times since then for business and pleasure. It’s the cutest little ski town with the most incredible views. I’ve also wiped out on these mountains snowboarding multiple times!

Fairmont Mt. Tremblant has an outdoor jacuzzi with the best view of the slopes! My favourite apres-ski activity!

MONTEBELLO, BORDER OF OTTAWA AND QUEBEC

The Fairmont Chateau Montebello is the largest log cabin in the world! It’s like walking in to a Hallmark movie/Christmas card and one of the best places to visit during the holidays…

BANFF, LAKE LOUISE, ALBERTA

Banff is easily on my Top 5 list of places I love in this whole world! We went in the winter, but I can’t wait to go sometime in the summer or fall to see the lake this gorgeous turquoise blue! You have to stay the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, it’s just breathtaking!

NIAGRA FALLS, ONTARIO

Niagra Falls is an easy two hour drive from Toronto and you really forget how amazing something is when it becomes so common to you! We’d always take our family from out of town to visit this incredible view, and now it’s become a drive-by on our way to go shopping in Buffalo, NY haha! Nonetheless, it is amazing! I love Niagra for the wineries, vineyards, bed & breakfasts (I love Maria’s if you’re looking for a good one) and Niagra on the Lake (a cute main street where you can watch plays, shop, have lunch, dinner, spa etc.). It’s a nice quick getaway!

PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY, ONTARIO

Another quick escape from Toronto (this one is a little over two hours) is a cute town called Prince Edward County! So many more spots have opened up since we last visited, and I can’t wait to go back and explore again. We had the pleasure of staying at the Drake Devonshire last winter and it was so cozy and incredible! We love hanging out at The Drake Hotel here in Toronto, so getting that same style and vibe, but on the lake was awesome! I’d highly recommend a trip up to PEC!

MUSKOKA, ONTARIO

Muskoka is our cottage country and while most people come here to escape in the summer time, I absolutely love it in the Fall! The colours are incredible!! We stayed at the JW Marriott during the Cranberry Festival and had the most relaxing time. I call it my kind of “glamping.”

TORONTO, ONTARIO

My hometown! There is so much to do in Toronto and I feel like I owe this city an entire guide, but whenever I go to write one I feel like I find some place new and I’d always need to keep adding to it. It’s an ever-changing and ever growing city with so much to do, so I have created a hashtag on Instagram of the best places to go, see, eat and stay: #sslovestoronto as I discover them!

Case Loma (my city has a real life castle – which is now a museum) and we got married here last summer!

High Park Cherry Blossom Festival

Hope you enjoyed this post and you’ll come visit soon!

HAPPY 150TH BIRTHDAY CANADA! I LOVE YOU! XOXO

Such a fun post! I’ve only been to Canada once, we went to Montreal in November and absolutely LOVED it! Banff has been on my list for years so I need to make that one happen, too!
