QUICK & HEALTHY BREAKFASTS

Good Morning Loves! We just got back from a magical stay at the Treehouse Retreat (more on that later this week) and I shot a few fun posts while we were there. Every corner and nook was a cozy dream, and I couldn’t resist! I’m trying to bring more day-to-day lifestyle posts to the blog, and today I’m sharing some easy, healthy breakfast options that are my go-to…

FIBRE BOOST

Oatmeal: We did instant oatmeal at the Treehouse because it was easy to pack, but I love to make steel cut oats with fresh berries and a little drizzle of honey or maple syrup, topped off with a sprinkle of cinnamon. It’s filling, quick to make and I get my fibre in!

 

 

GUT HEALTH

Yogurt: I can’t have this often because I’m sensitive to dairy, but this particular Icelandic brand SKYR is okay with me. Again, I don’t eat this everyday maybe once or twice a week to get probiotics in my system naturally (since I take supplements for this). Yogurt has a healthy bacteria that’s great for your gut health! I top it off with fresh berries and a drizzle of honey. It’s so good, and I always choose the vanilla flavour! Simple, quick and fulfilling!

CRAVING PROTEIN

Smoothie Bowls: The most delicious (and a little bit more time to make) out of everything are my infamous acai bowls! I’ve been meaning to do a tutorial for my youtube channel (and I promise it will come soon). It’s a superfood filled with antioxidants and I literally crave these all of the time! It takes a little longer than the other two breakfast options, so if I have a little more time, I’ll whip up one of these.

 

HEALTHY FATS

Avocado Toast: Who isn’t obsessed with avo-toast? I like getting a quality piece of toast (rye bread, or ezekiel), spreading some vegenaise, then layering sliced up avocado, salt, pepper, pepper flakes (I like it spicy) and either a sunny side up fried egg or sliced up cherry tomatoes. Whatever I’m feeling that day!

Nothing novel here recipe-wise, but these options keep me coming back and they’re super healthy! In case you ever wondered what fuels me up in the AM, it’s now demystified haha!
